almost there

Today's main event was the drive home from Sheffield. Just under 5 hours. Easy and incident free, but long.

It made me think of a few long drives from the past. Not much else to do for 5 hours. The one from Ohrid in Macedonia to Belgrade (Serbia) will always be high on that list. Wish I'd been Blipping back then.

Having been on the lookout for somewhere to take a lunch break for almost an hour, eventually I gave up at South Queensferry - 20 minutes from home.

The boat and that spot by the ferry pier reminded me of childhood drives from Edinburgh to Forres (Moray coast) for holidays. Before the road bridge was built we'd queue up for the ferry there. In those days the trip would take 5 hours.
