Sandy Dog

We went into Wetherby for lunch today and whilst walking around the market square looking for photo 'opportunities' I came across this lovely sand sculpture. The sculptor was just finishing it off with careful strokes of a wet paintbrush.

I dropped some change in his bowl - asking if it was ok to photograph it. he obligingly moved out of the way whilst I took the photo. He was still 'tidying up' at the time - you can see the pile of waste sand at the back.

It may not have the same impact as some of the structures at the big sand sculpting festivals - but it was nice to see it.
