Verdict.

The St. Louis-based Wonderland Bread Company was cleared of all charges regarding the 1977 Upper Dam collapse on the Smoke River, a Mississippi tributary (though numerous lawsuits are still pending). Over a decade later Rain City has only now begun to dig out of its economic collapse, rebuilding with the aid of generous investment from philanthropist Steven Darlington, CEO of Gentleman Holdings.
