A Doe Staredown

I took a late walk in the woods with my new backpack. It felt good, although I think it needs a little adjusting. The weight of the pack is supposed to be centered on your hips, and I don't think mine is quite right.

It (the trail) was real muddy in the low spots. I took a few "WHEWWW" steps, but managed to stay on my feet.

I had already seen 7 deer when I came upon this beauty. I froze in my tracks...as I laid down my pack. I talked to her as I turned my camera on. "How ya doin tonight? Isn't it just beautiful out here? Gonna have any babies this year? Do you think you could come out from behind that tree?

She wouldn't, so this is the shot I got. Always fun to see them.
