April 30th 2009 - Last night out together

We were up early and packing when the taxi arrived earlier than we were expecting to we had to round everyone up and head to the airport, leaving Casa de Nelly for the last time. At the airport half the staff and some passengers had masks on to try and combat swine flu which we thought was strange – we were on the Galapagos and were not expecting to be affected this early in our travels home! I had an exit seat on the flight which makes flying that much better though – leg room!

Back at Crossroads Hostel we were greeted by Maïté and Hilde (hugs all round) and set up camp in our rooms – as was Quito tradition I stayed with the Internationals. Everyone went out for dinner together which was nice, going to the Gran Buffet which meant having about 5 platefuls! We went out to a few bars afterwards – blip is of heading out – including Bungalow 6 for the first time in months, before going home to crash to be ready for all of the goodbyes tomorrow.
