#CloseUp 2 .......
......... obviously not for guessing as it's quite plain to see that this is Ganesh ... but the detail looked quite nice I thought and makes a good macro subject - although it's not something in everyone's home or garden, it is in mine.
We brought this back from India in 1999, it's around 5" (12.5cms) high and made of solid bronze therefore very heavy.
Thanks very much to those of you who took the time to join in with my mini-challenge yesterday and also thanks to those who guessed and commented on mine ....... to put you out of your misery my object yesterday was a Molinillo - a Mexican chocolate mixer - mine came from Mexico quite a few years ago and was bought from a roadside seller (probably mass produced but, looking closely, it hasn't been smoothed and finished off in parts and that's what attracted me). I have never used it but it sits nicely in my kitchen and is a reminder of a holiday past too.
I was intrigued that both Sefferdog and Tussock both (amusingly) suggested vehicle parts ..... not sure the soft wood would (wood would??? too many woods) stand up to be in, or on, a motor vehicle!!!! Made me smile though - thanks guys!
A lot of you were close with honey twirlers and Evelyne with her "quirl" and also with grinders as the 'business end' of this is used to grind the cocoa in the bottom of the pot.
Bit of a "mission" today - a quick trip to London, faff about a bit, drive back home .... not very exciting but it will keep Shadow in dog biscuits!!!! :-))
Have a Wonderful Wednesday ....
