Chick, chick, chick, chicken lay a little egg
After reading 'Maid in Wales' blip mentioning runny eggs I really fancied an egg for breakfast. I rather like a dippy egg with soldiers and we buy local eggs from the Butchers and they are rather good.
On the way back from collecting the 'PAIN' of glass, (still had to wait 10 minutes! ) We drove back down the Allangrange Road where I spotted this great sign. We did nt need eggs but they did look good, a nice mix of colours. It must belong to the Black Isle Brewery that was just down the road and Mike says 'yes' the beer is good.
In recent years the Organic Brewery has moved to a different site. They started off brewing' in a bucket, in a shed , in 1998.' They now brew up to 10,000 litres a day which is distributed throughout the UK and as far away as Japan. Allangrange translated from Gaelic means ' a fertile field of corn' . This must be true as most of the malting barley is grown on the organic farm. They even have a cow, Molly, who feeds on the malt and produces 20 pints of fresh milk daily. She must be a very content cow with a big smile on her face. I shall see if I can see her next time we're down that way.
