Sprouts and sprockets
Busy busy busy. Time for the annual spring clean, which by law (or something) has to happen on Christmas Eve, as though you've nothing else to do then. Made a few more mince pies (down to only 4.5 kilner jars of mincemeat left from my frenzy of over-preparation) and shortbread for those tired of endless chocolate truffles (as if).
Mam and Dad fought their way through the snow bringing supplies of sprouts for the dinner tomorrow. Sadly their local town had been caught unawares by the Christmas sprout rush, again, and they were only able to lay their hands on four sprouts. I think tomorrow we'll nip out for a wee walk to the local sprout fields to bump up those numbers a bit.
Once the kids had been wrestled into bed, it was time to make Conor's bike. I just couldn't face the stress of having to make it with an excitable boy bouncing around the room demanding to ride on it straight away. I made the mistake of trying to follow the assembly instructions - which I think were from a different bike. Or possible some Ikea furniture. Pictured above is the addendum regarding the rear mud-guard. Sadly they'd forgotten to include any of the pieces pictured, but instead had added a whole different set. And there were several bits left over when I'd finished. Hopefully not important bits.
Nearly time for Santa to put in an appearance, so I'd better head off before he pops in for his mince pies and whisky.
