Frozen sprouts

More snow had fallen during the night, so we woke to another wonderful scene.

I left Red and the boys playing in the snow to go to Knowes Farm for our goose. A lovely drive. I met Euan, who had walked there (a mere 5 miles) but was quite glad to take a lift home with me.

On a whim last night, I made a clementine cake. This involved boiling clementines for 2 hours, pureeing the lot and adding to a "normal" sponge mix before baking. We had it for pudding after lunch, served with a white chocolate and cream sauce. Don't know if it counts as one of your five a day, but it was tasty. I love all the cooking excesses of this time of year.

In the afternoon, we headed out to Cath and Arthur's house for a Christmas Eve party. Great bunch of folk, loads to drink and eat and that wonderful feeling of "it if ain't done now, too bad". Fantastic way to start the festivities.

Happy Christmas, everyone.
