Laxey Wheel.....
You can't come to the Isle of Man without visiting the Laxey Wheel, so we did, after paying £5:00 each to get in to see it we found out after that we could have got in with our Nation Trust cards, bummer, oh well they could use the money as they are repainting it next year.
We had breakfast this morning and set out for the Electric Railway, which was built in 1895 we reached Laxey where we changed trains for the Snaefell Railway and headed for the highest point on the island, 2037 ft up the mountain where we had our photo's taken at the Trig-point on top of the summit along with some others from our coach party.
On return we went round the Laxey wheel and into the mine too, where I hasten to add I left my new hat, another bummer, but all in all we had a great time and now we are back at the hotel packing to come home tomorrow. An early start (6:30 Breakfast) the catch the 9:30 fast cat back to the main land and hopefully back home by 3:00pm.
We have had a great time with nice folk and very pleasant surrounding, great hotel and very good food.
