'Honeysuckle'

The Honeysuckle is associated with love because of its growth pattern (it has sometimes been called 'love bind'). It symbolizes, in the way it clings to plants in the wild, the tight embrace of lovers. Various other meanings are 'devoted affection' and 'sweet disposition'..possibly linked to its wonderful fragrance.Fidelity and affection in the language of flowers ...in some areas it has been referred to as 'hold me tight'

Today Honeysuckle is still used in homeopathic medicine and herbal medicine, though the berries are very poisonous. Also interesting to know that Honeysuckle winds itself east to west around other plants, in other words anti clockwise. A very beautiful, fragrant plant both in the wild and in gardens.
