Haar

Today it was a day spent at home catching up with things so limited blipping. This early afternoon view is similar to those of many in the last few days especially in the mornings. This was taken after the mist had slightly cleared but now as I write the visibility of distant lights is quite good, unlike the last two nights when it was very thick.
The easterly winds which have been prevalent for almost the whole of April have brought the cold haar (North Sea fog) to places along the east coast. Sometimes it can be seen rolling in quickly at the speed of a train until it envelopes many of the coastal areas while several miles inland there might be a clear blue sky. But I don’t think the blue sky was seen anywhere for miles around today unlike yesterday when we had our warmest day.
