The Stars in the Skies
Scintillate, scintillate, globule vivific,
Fain would I fathom thy nature specific,
Loftily poised in the ether capacious,
Strongly resembling a gem carbonaceous!
On my walk home this evening I was struck by how many stars had come out to play, so I went out to join them. I only had a short time before cloud started to wisp through, but it's nice to have found a new local spot to try out. It was very nice standing by the rivulet as it gurgled down from the mountain. I could hear hoppitys in the bush (or axe murderers, but I prefer to think they were nocturnal natives), and the stars were winking merrily down at me.
I look forward to another clear night, to try for something a little better than this, but I'm happy with it as a first go. I managed to miss a spectacular aurora last night, but I was too busy having a lovely dinner with friends. Next time.
