Cardinal

Red! Kneeling in the flowerbed, as you do, with sodden knees, this beetle suddenly caught my eye climbing up the tree trunk.

The red head is dissimilar to the cardinal beetle which has a black head but the behaviour and habits are the same.

Saw a ruby tiger moth for the first time today, an armadillo and gorgeous ladies bonnet in the garden in the drizzle!
