A mad half hour

A big drop in temperature today and no sign of sunshine (until the last few minutes of the day) but we still ventured out for a walk this afternoon. The initial choice was quickly abandoned due to low cloud instead we went down to Goddard lane in Hadfield and did a short circular walk across Bottom Reservoir dam to Tintwistle. 22 bird species was a bit of a suprise when there appeared to be nothing but a few Canada Geese at first sight.

I took a few photos - Gorse in bloom (when is it not ?) , dark clouds, dark water, dark buildings and then a few sleepy looking horses.

Then it was as if the tape had dropped for the a race and they were off for a couple of flat out circuits of their field - just for fun or maybe just to warm up anyway it cheered us up to see them having fun. They soon stopped and settled down.

A bit of a mad half hour (perhaps).
