May 2nd 2009 - Quito Quito

I woke up at 2:30am to leave and said a few goodbyes at the hostel (including finally adding a ‘Polo’ to Rachel’s ‘Marco’) and sang while a few of us on the early airport shift loaded our bags. We drove to the airport and as we unloaded our bags I started singing ‘Quito, Quito’ to the tune of ‘New York, New York’ and the taxi driver joined in – I love Ecuadorians!

We checked our bags at the airport and were soon checked in, where I some separated from the Danish. We rejoined and I had breakfast with Josefine, Louise St and Rikke before we had to say our goodbyes too. It was time to get on the plane, I was leaving Quito and Ecuador with a heavy heart.
