Just look what the cat brought in!
A client brought this little fledgling in this morning, having removed it from his cat's mouth. We think it is a young long-tailed tit, but are happy to be corrected if we're wrong. So far the youngster is doing well.
The RSPB have firm advice about fledglings - if you see one who seems lost, abandoned, and in need of help DONT TAKE IT TO YOUR VET. Leave it where it is; usually a parent is nearby who will feed it .
On the other hand - if you do find your cat eating one - and it seems to still be in one piece - it is a good idea to save the bird.
