Like a Prayer

Today we visited Sultanahmet, the old city where some of the world's greatest monuments shape the landscape and define the Christian and Islamic influences on the city.

We only managed to see the Blue Mosque & the Sophia Hagia as the queues were long & the heat high.

But they were well worth it. No pictures can do justice to just how beautiful these places are - especially on the inside where the decor is very intricate & truly amazing. They show man's creativity at his best.

We also visited the Grand Bazaar where bizarrely enough we bumped into my cousin Bina who is also visiting Istanbul.

Just chilling now but can't wait to get out again and soak up the sounds, smells and atmosphere of this fabulous city.
