Mountains

We walked up near the highest point of the island today and the views were outstanding.  In the foreground is the Forteleza mountain which we nearly climbed to the top of a few years ago but we chickened out as we were worried about the descent.  In the background is the island of El Hierro just peeping through the clouds.  This is the smallest of the Canary Islands and as I heard someone say yesterday, it is the place people on this island go to to get away from everything.  It's really laid back there.  We could also see the islands of La Palma and Tenerife.  They all look so close but it takes 4 hours by high speed ferry to get to El Hierro.
