Spotty Orchid

Through at my mums today . She has an uncanny ability to keep orchids in bloom almost all year round. One week we go through and one of her plants looks like its at deaths door, the next time we are through its blooming again. I wish I knew what remarkable thing she does to them - occasional watering when she remembers and I suspect the kitchen windowsill which has just the right amounts of light, heat and humidity. (Green fingers is not a general family trait...)
