....... Prickles and Yellow Flowers


The bright yellow flowers from the Gorse bush growing beside the Motueka Estuary provides a warm splash of colour on this very grey day.

Today, our sky looked sooooo different to our blue sky of yesterday.


UPDATE
Gorse was introduced to New Zealand in the very early stages of European settlement as a hedging plant but it quickly spread as a weed.

It is a prickly shrub which grows 2 metres or more tall. It has yellow flowers which produce explosive seed pods.
