Skateboard Graveyard

The southern pier of Hungerford Bridge is a skateboard graveyard.

Dozens of broken, cast off, skateboards have been tossed from the bridge where they lie, in an inaccessible but highly visible position.

How and why this practice began, I don't know, but it's no doubt connected with the nearby skateboard park in the catacombs under the Queen Elizabeth Hall and its subculture.
