Birds on a wire...or at least on a golden fence!

After careful checking of the tide website we headed to the beach at LOW tide this afternoon......which turned out be be monstrous swell at high tide! Not sure how that happened.... Youngest son helpfully asked..."are you sure it was 6 pm not 6 am Mum?"
So , back to the lake. It is tidal and so this particular fence is actually at the edge of the jetty which is partially submerged. I couldn't resist this row of wonderful pelicans soaking up the golden afternoon light.
There were cute little ducks milling around in the hopes of some feed, some seagulls tucked in there behind the fence, and it wasn't until I was home I noticed the elegant black swans in the background. Tuggerah Lake ...teaming with bird life!
This week marks a return to work for me, following a hiatus during our recent move...mixed feelings there !
My thoughts are with our eldest child...starting her IB exams in London today!
