Reaching For The Light

SNOW!!!

Reaching for the light on a cold, cold night.

Today was fairly warm, for winter anyways. Went to Music Go Round and my favorite store Rag-O-Rama with just jeans, a sweater, and a scarf- no jacket. Then tonight stepped outside my door and POW!!!- SNOW!!! Guess we're expecting 2-4 inches overnight, but my neighbors tell me that we'll most likely only get 2 inches and it will probably melt up with the sunshine tomorrow since it's pretty rare to get a bunch of snow here. I actually hate snow... probably because where I used to live we would get buried with 18+ inches at a time during a winter storm. Some days the car was literally buried in snow and there was no getting out of the driveway no matter how much I wished I could. I start a new job tomorrow so of course it would snow tonight, go figure... but, I'm actually happy to see it for one of the first times in my life. When I opened the door tonight I must admit it was a welcomed sight. Makes me feel like I'm not so far from home. Home to me... will always be where my family is... until I get a family of my own someday. And, a family to me is just having someone love me for me... unconditionally. Tonight I was twice surprised, once by the snow itself and secondly by my reaction to it. Turned my outside light on, grabbed my Canon Xsi 450D and stood there watching the snow fall... after my hands were just about numb from the cold I reached for the light for warmth and there you have my blip of the day...
