A free day

I love a free bank holiday day; one where you have no plans and you just see where the day takes you.

This morning, I went for a 6.2 mile run. It wasn't a great pace, but I made it and I felt good. I'm slowly rebuilding my confidence now, small steps but I'll get there. This was the view along Portobello beach this morning.

The rest of the day was spent food shopping and watching Studio Ghibli films. Hayao Miyazaki's last animated film, The Wind Rises is released on Friday (although it doesn't seem to come to Edinburgh until June) and so I thought I'd watch a few in the lead up to it. I've blipped a character from Laputa; Castle in the Sky before, but I haven't seen all his films - something I need to rectify, they're phenomenal!

This evening I also met up with Claire for Lebanese food, a couple of beers and great chat. A lovely way to end the bank holiday.
