Duct Tape - a tribute!

I moved into my flat two years ago. It isn't anything special, just an ex-council flat in a reasonable part of Edinburgh. I bought it because the minute I walked in, I thought it had a nice feel to it - much nicer than several other flats I'd been to see.

At the time I couldn't afford to change the bathroom - and here it still is in all it's 1960's g(l)ory. But not for long, tomorrow work starts to transform this Cinderella into a beautiful bathroom, one I can be proud of, and I just can't wait!

This shower has served me well though - not least because of the well-placed black duct tape on the left hand side there. One thing I did manage to do, when I first moved in, was refit the kitchen. It was necessity really, the old one fell apart before my eyes! During that episode of frantic activity the fitters managed to drill through the wall and pierce the tiling in the shower. No mean feat since my walls are made of the most resistant brick in the country.

To make the shower waterproof again a friend suggested covering it over with duct tape - which I did. Two years later, and at least 730 showers later, the same bit of duct tape is still hanging in there! Now that's impressive.
