Life's a beech
Life didn't feel like a beach at the gym this morning, and even less so on the plod home. But is a sunny day so I'm going to treat myself to a few hours in the garden - not to do any weeding- reading my book for book group next week. It is 'Regeneration' by Pat Barker, so it is a re-read as I did read it when it first was published, over 20 years ago now. I did manage to find my copy which, strangely, hadn't been stolen by my daughters.
We are doing it because of the centenary. Apropos to wars, I've been watching "War Generation:our Mothers, our Fathers" which is a German production, (subtitles on for us) and one of the best things I've seen on TV since The Wire.
