Acer brilliantissimum

Clickychick's mum (FredaH) needed some plants for hanging baskets as did we, so a trip to Houghton Hall Garden Centre seemed appropriate. Recently they had delivered to every house a voucher for 50% off any plant and a buy one get one free cream tea, so that clinched where we were going.

The cream teas are so popular that they had a queue forming 15 minutes before they were due to start serving. The 50% offer meant that we could buy a tree for the holiday lodge at a very reasonable price. We have over the years been impressed by the colour of the newly emerging leaves on this Acer so we chose a nice specimen.

The icing on the cake was that as we are members of their garden club we got 10% off the bedding plants as well. All in all an enjoyable and profitable tripout.
