The Miracle of Growth

Last year, our good friend Steph bought me a small single vine in a pot ready to plant in our garden in Euless. L, the green fingered member in our partnership proceeded to establish the vine in an old Jack Daniels whiskey barrel on a trellis. The vine grew and attached itself to the trellis and seemed to grow well last year. During the winter I wondered if it would survive the rather severe ice storms. As spring has come, the vine has flourished, and today, L discovered this fledgling bunch if grapes growing after only a year. They don't look like much and don't expect Chateau Euless Pinot Noir to be forthcoming any time soon, but it was an exciting moment nevertheless!
