Red Lily Beetle
or it's scientific name - Lilioceris lilii. Ok, i'll admit it, I did have to do some research as I didn't have a clue what it was!
Was just pulling the wheelie bin back in when I spotted him in the flowerbed. Not hard to miss with it's bright red body and as i've been wanting to photograph insects ever since I bought my macro lens - went and grabbed the camera. Apparently, they are partial to lilies and fritillaries and will destroy the foliage. I did see one sitting on my fritillary but this one seemed quite happy on the Lamb's Tail!
