Arnhem / Oosterbeek War Cemetery

The war cemetery a few miles outside Arnhem, where the Allied dead of the Battle of Arnhem lie buried. There are more than 1,600 graves, shown here in a cover of a few inches of snow. The Battle of Arnhem, put into film as "A Bridge too far" was to liberate Holland from the yoke of Nazism. Its failure put off that freedom for up to 8 months.
