Flowery Thanks

Walking up to the entrance of our nearby "has almost everything" store (not a Walmart!!), I was struck by the sweep of bright bouquets in every possible color combination, cleverly arrayed to catch shoppers' eyes before they entered.

This Sunday is Mother's Day in the United States, and flowers are a favorite gift. These flowers, however, are for my Blip friend ValC, who did such a lovely bon voyage blip today for Phil and me, prior to our departure to Belgium and France on Sunday.

We chose Icelandair for our trip, having enjoyed flying on that airline to Iceland last autumn, but now we're wondering if we made the right decision, as Icelandair pilots threatened to strike several times last month, and are likely to go on strike for 12 hours on Friday (May 9), as well as on May 16 and 20. We're not flying on any of those dates, and are hoping that the situation is quickly resolved.
