Goose and Gander: Portraits
As mentioned in our Modelingblip from the other day, here are the finished products.
We couldn't be happier.
These were done by two of the art teachers at our school, who have won several awards for their work.
People pay a lot of money to have portraits done, and these were given to us as a kind gesture to show thanks for our willingness to sit for three hours for the art students.
It turned out to be three hours well spent, with a memory like this.
Come July, we will have to do everything in our power to safely transport them back home as they will hang in our future home(s) for years and years.
~The Gander
On another note, today was busy, but in a different way than usual. We were judges in a English speaking competition for primary students. It was a blast, but still nerve-racking both for the young boys and girls, but for us as well!
After each speech, The Goose and I had to ask each student a question about the content of their speech. The idea is to get them thinking on their feet, using their English. Many of the students got embarrassed, and nervous.
We found one answer particularly cute/funny:
-------
The Goose: What is your favorite subject in school?
7 year old Chinese girl student: One day, I hope to make friends with an Alien.
-------
Yup, no joke, that's what she said and she was so proud of her answer too. She smiled, and thanked us for her question and skipped off stage.
