Good-bye 2009!

On Thursday, we were able to get our classes moved to the morning so that we could take off for Hong Kong by lunchtime.

We met up with two good friends to cross the border together and make it over to Hong Kong Island to check into our VERY nice hostel for the night. 2 other friends came a few hours later, and the 6 of us enjoyed a nice Indian meal together for dinner.

After enjoying some mixed drinks in the hostel room, we headed out to meet up with other friends and watch an amazing fireworks show over the buildings on the waterfront in Hong Kong.

2009 was a crazy year for us: we went on a honeymoon to Paris and Dublin, lived by Martin's parents, celebrated a year of marriage and moved away from everything we knew in the states here to China. We couldn't have asked for better friends to help us through the transitions here, nor for more supportive family and friends back home.

It was a great ending to what has been a wonderful year for us.
