Mr and Mrs Eider

Now on North Uist. Just had time before the rain to go to the beach nearby. Like most beaches on the Uists it was deserted apart from lots of birds. The Eiders were lurking in the kelp but put on full speed ahead as we got closer.

Heard a Corncrake just outside our house. But seeing the blighter is exceedingly difficult. The Uists are one of the main places they can be seen (?) during the breeding season.
