At the Ballpark

10:45 p.m., and I'm just starting to blip. A long, but fun day at the ball park.

Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers. They had a special program today before the game, where some of the ballplayers and their wives talked about their faith. It was very inspiring.

Then they had an on-the-field instruction time. Imagine thousands of young ballplayers strung out at 3 different stations. It was a mass of humanity, but it was still fun to bend down in the outfield grass. I did make one move on the "warning track" to see how many steps it took before you hit the wall, and was kindly asked to step back by one of the grounds people.

Finally...the game. Our two best hitters each hit a home run, and our Cy Young pitcher from last year (Max Scherzer) won the game. Our Tigers won 9 to 3.

My treat bag went over real well. I waited until the bottom of the second inning to start...but then I hit 'em with:
2nd. Homemade white chocolate candy.
3rd. Cut-up apples.
4th. Salted in-the-shell peanuts.
5th. Pull-apart red licorice.
6th. Pretzel nuggets.
7th. Dum-dum suckers.

Pretty hard packing a bag for 50 people, but...on this Mother's Day weekend...my Mom would have been proud.

Happy Mothers Day to all you wonderful, special Mothers.

Hope to catch up tomorrow night. Waaaay behind.

P.S. The 2 pictures on the right are Paws, the team mascot...putting his paws all over a pregnant woman, and our pitcher Scherzer. He is known for 2 things. Being a great pitcher and competitor...and...having one blue eye, and one brown eye.
