The Dude

Relieved parent alert, for which I make no apologies. Sam's at a lovely stage. He's always been a keeper but at the moment he just seems really happy, funny, interested, good company with a healthy dose of fledgling teenager thrown in. We spent a lot of time together today, in town enduring shopping which we both hate, then home for a quick walk round the forest. Now he's watching the Hobbit with his Dad, after roundly beating him in a nerf gun stand off. Tess meanwhile, has had two consecutive sleepovers and I believe may have survived on pizza slices and chocolate all weekend. I'm cutting her some slack. Her recent parents night was a relief... "a really capable girl with a good head on her shoulders", how can that be, given who her parents are?
