Banksia: No3

Being Mother's Day in Australia yesterday, CCN and I decided we should buy a lovely bunch of flowers to celebrate. Now normally I would head straight for the chrysanthemums - being the traditional Mother's Day flower in OZ but these amazing banksias caught our eye.

There are over 170 species of banksia and there are three species in this bunch that I have never seen before. Their flowers are so intricate and and come in the most incredible colours. I would really encourage you to view this glorious bunch in the LARGE version. Australian natives are spectacular and my dream is to head home to Western Australia in the not too distant future to really explore some of the sensational wild flower regions when they're at their peak.

I just want to thank everyone who commented and threw stars and hearts at yesterday's sunset image. I was thrilled to see it on the Spotlight Page. That image meant a lot to me - being mothers day. I know my Mum would have loved it.
