City in Colour
Today we found the best place for brunch/cake and coffee in Budapest: The New York Cafe. While a little bit on the pricey side, relative to other places in Budapest, the decor and architecture inside was worth it! As part of the 5 star Boscolo Hotel it surpassed it's reputation for grandness and luxury. We tried some amazing cakes and an interesting Baileys and coconut milkshake (a full meal would make a fairly large dent in your wallet!) Definitely an experience not to be missed on a visit to the city!
In order to work off this decadent brunch we decided to head up to the Citadella which was supposed to boast the best views of the city. Unfortunately we found the area to be closed off (due to an accident we found out later), so we did not make it to the top. There were still some excellent vantage points on the way up though, and this picture highlights some of the beautiful contrasted buildings of Budapest's skyline.
We then made our way to 'Liszt Ferenc Ter', a pedestrianised street with a huge array of restaurants, and found a gem in Menza Restaurant, which offered a rare vegetarian selection, including some Hungarian specialties. A relaxing day with some great weather for exploring the city!
