Reaching out

I had 30 minutes to kill so I went to Sharpness to see the docks. This shot shows one of the wooden piers which extend into the Severn and lead to the entrance gates for the tidal basin. To the left of the shot the darker sky is a rain shower and there were a few more moving around while I was there - anyone living over the river will have got wet washing if they'd pegged it out.

In the past Sharpness was a busy port and it is also the entrance to the Gloucester and Sharpness canal which runs for 16 miles up to the port of Gloucester. A lot quieter today but there was a large yacht(?) in the dock with a helicopter on the stern deck.

And then on to work where I had a lovely meeting with a dozen or so folk.
