Common Yellowthroat (male)

We're back to the Rail Trail (in Amherst, at Station Road) for the first time in many months. We started a bit late and couldn't stay long but we still had some good sightings--especially Common Yellowthroats (Geothlypis trichas), which seemed to be nearly everywhere. But they were still mainly in thick underbrush, and I felt fortunate to get this shot--one of the few good ones I've managed over the years. But the special bird of the day was a Northern Waterthrush (another relatively uncommon warbler species).

Another bird blipper, Avilove, just posted a Common Yellowthroat, in California, an entire continent away!

We should be back tomorrow, hoping for more :)
