Walking Wombat

INTO THE WILD BLUE!

We were walking along the fire trail just before lunch when I looked up and saw a sleak silver bird streaming across the sky right above us. It was a case of spontaneous action -
1 Whip off the Sun glasses
2 Try and unzip the camera case in record time
3 Take out the camera and turn it on
4 Work out the settings for the shot
5 Take aim and zoom in on a bird flying at approx. 600 km per hour
6 Take the shot!!

Wow, you could get really fit being a blipper. I have to say we actually counted three of this bird species within six minutes and they were all heading towards the west. It was like some kind of mass migration.

I must admit I did start to wonder about all of the journeys that were just beginning for the occupants of these three silver birds. Were they heading off on some extraordinary adventure, were they on a business trip or perhaps heading home for a family reunion. They could have been a bunch of photographers heading to Western Australia for a Blip Meet.....I wish!!

Anyway, I could let my mind run riot if I wanted to and guess what I'll never know the truth!!!

Just wanted to - how blue is that sky today - not a speck of pollution in sight!!
