English Lakes

Strawberry and Cream flavour at the cafe at Aira Force.

A nice walk on a new path through National Trust Glencoyne Park by Ullswater. The first Spotted Flycatchers of the year were inspecting possible nest sights. Other birds were well ahead of them young Robins, Blackbirds and Starling all spotted along the way. Redstarts and a Pair of Pied Flycatchers were near the Aira Force car park. Common Sandpiper called out loud and clear from the lake shore

At the top of the waterfalls a Dipper zipped past and Grey Wagtails worked the rocks at the bottom feeding well on plenty of flies.

The fields and woods were full of wild flowers and butterflies and the warm weather seemed to have lifted everybody's spirits.
