Sea Pinks
Out on the cliffs the breeze was brisk
Sea mist hovered damp in the air
Skylarks sang, stonechats rang
Shall we walk awhile
The sun shone, flowers it kissed
Sea pinks, vetch, the first wild rose
Smiled, lifted heads fair.
Still we’ll walk awhile
Butterflies basked, nectared in sheltered spots,
A copper, a wall , some green veined whites.
Out at sea a lone boat fished
Gulls swooped, a fulmar patrolled, a kestrel hovered.
Time to go home
