Bring on Summer

Logan got home today from school for the summer - really feeling like it now.

Today was a most pleasant day all around - a couple of days ago I received a text message from a young man that Sumner dated for about 5 years, starting in high school and then off and on during her struggles. He has since moved to Colorado and was back in New Hampshire visiting family and friends and wanted to have lunch. What a wonderful, air-clearing lunch it was. We talked about so many things and laughed about so many happy times and it is good to see him in such a good frame of mind. Losing her and dealing with feelings of guilt plagued him for awhile. His mother and I tried to convince him that no matter what, he could not have changed her fate and he has finally come to that conclusion himself after talking to someone who knew her during the bad times and is in recovery himself. I think he finally understands the motivation behind addiction and the loss of the person as you knew them before the actual loss. I am happy for him that he is happy and that he reached out to share that happiness.

Anyway, it has been raining off and on all day (needed that) and this picture is for the Annie and Molly May Challenge word of Magnolia, the color. It is a "Wax Pottery Vessel" - kind of a wax bowl with flowers and leaves and scent embedded in it. It gives off a faint scent without the flame of a candle. I think it might even fit the DDW Where I Live challenge too.
