No.13 Marston to Rimpton Circuit

You have now turned into Camel Street, the straight road leading out of the village from the church to Queen Camel, West Camel and any other camel that you might find lurking in the fields!
This work in progress used to be the village butcher's shop with a very ugly shop area directly on the street. Happily the young couple currently renovating the property, demolished that as their very first job.
Next door was the slaughter house and next to that was the village school. The village school closed in 1951 but some elderly residents remember attending that school and hearing the animals being slaughtered also seeing the blood running into the stream. We are so divorced from the realities of farming and food production today aren't we?
Last stop tomorrow. Another sorry tale I fear!
