Winners and Runners Up

Today has been another blipfest. Up early to take the Tiger to get the train. He was off to Wembley to support his team in its first ever FA Cup Final. BB supports the other team!

BB and I then wandered around Dunbar harbour for a while, ending up at the playpark. It was lovely – grey but bright and very still. Lots of blip material. We then zoomed home for a quick snack and then it was off to another of BB’s football tournaments. BB scored a few goals in his games and was delighted. There are no winners or losers at his age – so they all get trophies. He really wanted a burger as he had missed out on lunch – so we joined the burger queue as he was admiring his trophy.

Home for a rest and for me to have a very late lunch. I had presumed that he would want to watch the football on TV, but he didn’t in case Arsenal lost. He wanted to go out on his bike, so he cycled and I walked. We went round by the river to see the swans and their six lovely cygnets. The daddy swan was getting very annoyed at some very noisy and threatening gulls. He puffed up his wings to show them who was boss.

Friends were texting me the score, so I turned the TV on in the last 5 minutes of extra time. BB sat glued to it and was visibly relieved when Arsenal won – but no whoops of joy! He was very philosophical as he said, “Daddy will be sad, maybe he is sniffling. A runners up medal is still good. It’s not losing.” Aww bless him. He was whacked after his busy day and I hope he is asleep now.

Today’s blip could have been a lovely harbour scene, BB’s football, the cygnets – but no, it’s the lucky wrist bands (made by BB) in the colours of their teams.
