Happy Christmas!

No I haven't lost the plot, our Christmas present off our daughter and family was a day out to include a trip on the poppy line train between Holt and Sheringham in. North Norfolk. We've struggle a bit finding a date we can all do but today was agreed upon a couple of weeks ago and off we went.

We set off early and enjoyed a lovely drive to Holt where we met the rest of the family and boarded this lovely steam train for the short journey to Sheringham. Crab & lobster festival taking place in the town, lots of food stalls and people. We had thought ahead and reserved a table in a pub on the seafront, The Two lifeboats.it was crowded outside with people protecting their chips from the seagulls but we had a very relaxing and yummy meal inside. A post lunch stroll on the beach followed by some rather delish ice cream before heading back to the train and back to Holt. holt was all tucked up and quiet when we got there which is a shame because it's a really beautiful little town with lots of gift, craft and tea shops. One shop, Byfords was still open which is just as well as I had been charged with finding some chutney my mum likes, Apple & mint, job done - now I just have to get it up to her in Manchester!!!!
