BISTORT RETORT
I love it when plants develop a little deviation from their normal growth, especially when it appears a little rude. This is Persicaria bistorta 'Superba' ( commonly known as Bistort), a humble but wonderful plant. It pushes it's tall spikes upwards through the swathes of bluebells and last long after they have gone.
Today made up for the last two rough ones. Throat was still sore, but with a clearer head and slightly less dizziness, I managed a full day in the garden - and there is still the evening to come. Was quite overcome by the heat at one point and had to lie down for a snooze under the cherry tree. All this and an adventure planned for the weekend...
