There once was an ugly duckling

Since K has had his avairy and the quail finally started to lay eggs, he has been talking about trying to hatch some.
A friend of mine offered to lend us all the equipment needed and when we had 3 quail eggs and someone gave us 4 duck eggs, we thought why not!

Last night one quail hatched, another one in the night and the last one at 6am this morning. ( a lovely thing to wake to)

This afternoon one of the ducks started, everything stopped and we peered over the incubator. Sure enough the miracle of life happened!
I love nature! Three more to go...
